Welcome to Milldene Park Care Centre which is situated in the lovely and secure gardens of Milldene Park Retirement Village.
We have comfortable well maintained single rooms, some ensuite and some with garden access. We also have a respite room (for Milldene cottage residents only), assisted living and "pop-in" carer facility.
The Care Centre has a large, bright lounge with television, two dining rooms and a preparation area, modern laundry and activity area, plus lovely courtyards and patios.
Our Care Centre staff is headed up by our kind and compassionate Matron, Sister Lyn Shacks. She has over 40 years nursing experience, with 20 years specialising in the care of the older person. Residents have full access to their preferred medical practitioners, however Milldene has it's own house doctor available on call if required. She specialises in the care and medication of the older person.
Sister Lyn is ably assisted by other sisters, nursing staff, carers, domestic staff, maintenance, gardening and administrative team, as well as the residents of Milldene. The care centre is also strongly supported and guided by the Chairman and Trustees of Milldene Park and the Residents Committee.
The Caring staff provide a high level of nursing for residents and their needs, including dementia, age related and chronic illnesses and recovery after hospital surgery or admission.
Milldene supports the blister pack medication service for safe dispensing. Competent Milldene staff are on duty 24/7 and are supported by qualified and registered carers from Allmed nursing services. A care programme is devised for the needs and requirements of each individual.
All residents have an emergency panic call button for immediate assistance at any time.
Our team of staff from Ethekwini Caterers provide three nutritious meals a day, plus morning and afternoon tea. They cater for different dietary requirements and provide for birthday celebrations and special events.
Family and friends are welcome to book meals with the residents and use our coffee shop facilities and attend special events.
Breakfast, teas and light lunches can be ordered from the coffee shop.
Our friendly Marshall security guards ensure safety for our residents and controlled access 24/7.
In the event of loadshedding or electricity outages, we have a back up generator and Inverter.
The care centre has dedicated JoJo tanks to provide water during shortages or maintenance.
We are proud to have introduced a bacteria free ozone laundry system installed by OTEK. Ultrasound light is used in this technology which is safe and environmentally and user friendly.
We encourage new residents to feel at home by bringing in their own personal possessions such as bed and small furniture, bar fridge, curtains, your own bedding and pictures.
lf you require your own DStv or WiFi, this service will be for the residents account to install and maintain. The main lounge has TV, and WiFi is available in the open plan area, coffee shop and hall. The hall has a large screen TV for functions and sporting events.
We have an open policy for visitors and welcome visits from family and friends at all reasonable times.
We encourage our guests to use the coffee shop and to attend Milldene functions.
Our residents have access to libraries, games and puzzles. Chair exercises and bingo are kindly organised each week by our cottage residents.
Care centre residents are warmly invited to join in all Milldene village activities which include:-
Crafts and Happy Hobbies, Friday church service, all special meals, functions and shows, social club, rummikub, bridge, Indaba and happy hour as well as braais and TV events on the big screen. They can also enjoy popcorn and drinks whilst watching a film on movie night on the big screen.

These units are spacious and comfortable with a separate bedroom en-suite and small kitchenette.
